Mid-York Library System cards are free and are accepted at every member library in Herkimer, Oneida, or Madison Counties. The other member libraries of the Mid-York Library System may have different policies and procedures for library cards than the Basloe Library.
Replacement cards are $3.00 at the Basloe Library.
To register for a card, you must live, work, or go to school in Herkimer, Oneida, or Madison Counties. Fill out a registration form at the Basloe Library and show identification (ID) with a current address. Photo ID is preferred. You may borrow up to two items the first time you use it. Children between five (and in school) and seventeen years of age may sign up for a youth card. This requires the signature of a parent or guardian.
A library card might not be issued right away if further verification is needed or a decision about the application is needed from the Library Director.
At the Basloe Library, children under the age of five (or not yet in school) may sign up for a “Bee-Ginner” card. This is a practice card that does not have borrowing privileges, but allows children to select a small toy for remembering to bring their card to the library.
